He is especially proud of his successful efforts to expand the Advanced Placement courses offered in Oyster Bay and his biannual efforts to create multi-day college visitations to colleges along the eastern seaboard for students who would not ordinarily have the opportunity.
Dr. O’Hara has taught biology and general science at the secondary level in the Valley Stream and Miller Place School Districts and has also served as science department chairman (grades 6-12) and assistant principal in the Hauppauge School District. Dennis is currently the President of the Oyster Bay–East Norwich Administrator’s Association and the Vice President of the Nassau County High School Principals’ Association.
