CAS Presents DASA CTLE Workshop

02/15/2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

On Tuesday, February 15, Anthony Baxter, Assistant Principal, Sleepy Hollow High School, Tarrytown, NY presented another well-received CAS CTLE Workshop entitled DASA Details: Everything You Need to Know for Your Protection and Theirs” on Zoom.

The workshop focused on the Dignity for All students Act, what it does (and does not) prescribe, how to implement it in your school setting, and how to manage student and parent expectations. The legislation, school district policies, and administrative practices and procedures were presented and discussed in detail. Participants were engaged in a lively and interactive presentation wherein actual scenarios and solutions were explored and discussed. This proved to be an excellent workshop for probationary administrators responsible for student safety and discipline.

During an interactive portion of the workshop, the participants had opportunities to reflect on their practices and discuss them with their colleagues in other nearby districts. The workshop was concluded with helpful suggestions for enhancing school safety and the participants left with practical tools to effectively implement student centered DASA programs in their schools. This was another information-packed CAS workshop that provided the participants with practical suggestions on how to manage, investigate, and monitor DASA complaints in their schools.
