SUMMARY:LGBTQ+: Honoring All Voices CTLE Workshop - Zoom - Wednesday\, January 18\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:School leaders are tasked with creating supportive learning environments for their students\, families\, and staff. Workshop participants will explore basic terminology and best practices for serving LGBTQ+ people and the programs and services available on Long Island. Attendees will also better understand their LGBTQ+ students and gain insight into working with students and parents. \nZenada Gordon\, PFY LGBTQ Services Coordinator\, manages all aspects of PFY’s Coffeehouse program\, a drop-in center for LGBTQ+ youth and allies ages 13 – 20 at the Bellmore location. Zenada coordinates PFY’s volunteer program and supervises Associate and Bachelor level interns. She also facilitates PFY’s TransAction & Queer Connect programs and conducts outreach for these services\, focusing on LGBTQ+ youth of color. Zenada carries a caseload of counseling and case management clients and is available to assist clients with Name & Gender Marker Changes and Letters of Support for Gender Affirming Medical Care. \nZenada is available to provide a variety of training to professionals in educational\, health & human service\, and medical provider settings.  Zenada Gordon\, PFY LGBTQ Services Coordinator\, They/She Pronouns\, (516) 679-9000 ext. 14\, or zgordon@liccpfy.org. \nIf you would like to attend\, please fill out this Google form.
