DESCRIPTION:Each year around this time\, CAS sponsors a Financial Literacy Program for our members to help them plan for their eventual retirement. Even if you are not actively considering retirement and preparing for life post-retirement\, this could be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the New York State Teachers Retirement System\, Social Security\, and your tax-deferred benefit plans. It is never too early to start thinking about retirement and actively planning for it. He was the System’s spokesperson and was responsible for its publications\, website\, and media information. Previously\, he was the Administrator of Pre-retirement Planning where he organized and implemented the System’s retirement planning seminar program\, which is a model for other systems throughout the country. Also\, previously he was Administrator of the National Pension Education Association and is a nationally known presenter on retirement planning issues and public employees’ programs. \nWe have received tremendous positive feedback from CAS members who have attended our previous Financial Literacy Workshops.
