SUMMARY:CAS CTLE Workshop - Make Meetings Meaningful with David Hymowitz
DESCRIPTION:Self-Care Moments for Memorable Meetings \nLearning to take care of oneself is not just something that occurs after work but something that should be incorporated into one’s work life.  Integrating self-care moments into a meeting can change everything. This workshop will explore the connection between stress and health and techniques from our STARR exercises (Stress and Trauma\, Active Release and Rewiring) that specifically release stress from one’s physical and mental selves. The techniques can be implemented immediately into practice. \n  \nDavid Hymowitz is a licensed social worker with over 30 years of experience in human services. He has held positions as an educator\, program developer\, clinician\, and support group leader for youth\, adults\, and families\, and in administrative and executive roles. \nDavid is currently the Director of #SameHere Schools and Community Programs.  He has developed SEL Partnerships with numerous Long Island Schools\, Libraries\, and Community Health Agencies.  Programs include workshops for staff\, parents\, and students while assisting in the development and integration of wellness and social-emotional learning into the climate of the school districts and organizations. \n CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

SUMMARY:CTLE Workshop: Safe Space Forum for Assistant Principals Tuesdays\, March 19th at 4:30 P.M with Dr. Mike Fama
DESCRIPTION:To help assistant principals navigate sometimes unchartered waters\, CAS has developed a series of three (3) workshops for assistant principals focusing on topics generated by the participants that will explore the importance of educational leadership\, common workplace concerns\, best practices\, personal and professional growth\, and collaboration\, all anchored in the Professional Standards of Educational Leaders (PSEL). These confidential workshops will allow participants to work with a seasoned mentor and network with colleagues in similar positions across Long Island. Participants will indicate the topics they would like to discuss and submit questions about these topics when registering. Participants are welcome to attend some or all sessions. \nThe workshops will be facilitated by Dr. Michael Fama\, longtime principal of the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Comsewogue. Mike has also been a mathematics and business teacher in the East Meadow School District and an Assistant Principal at Lindenhurst Middle School. He was instrumental in guiding JFK Middle School through the recent pandemic and achieving Middle States Accreditation. In addition to teaching and motivating future school leaders at St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue\, he is currently visiting schools seeking accreditation throughout the northeast as a Volunteer Team Member for the Middle States Association. \nThis workshop is at no cost to all CAS administrators. CAS is a certified NYSED Continuing Teacher Leader Education (CTLE) sponsor\, and successful participants will earn one (1) hour of CTLE professional development credit applicable toward the hours needed for continuing certification for each session. Upcoming CAS CTLE Workshops are scheduled throughout the school year and communicated through email and the www.casliny.com website. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER
