President’s Message

The Council of Administrators & Supervisors (CAS) is Long Island’s largest professional organization for practicing public school administrators and supervisors, representing over 1,500 school leaders across Nassau and Suffolk counties. For more than 50 years, CAS has been a powerful advocate for school administrators protecting legal rights, elevating professional interests, and strengthening leadership across our region.

CAS is made up of more than 75 independent, self-governing bargaining units, guided by an executive board that meets monthly to shape policy, develop programs, and create meaningful professional learning experiences. From timely workshops to special events, CAS ensures members have access to the support, knowledge, and community they need to lead with confidence.

Each year, CAS hosts two delegate assemblies where we celebrate exceptional administrators, honor CAS Scholarship recipients, and recognize the dedicated service of our retirees. CAS members are invited to attend our workshops at no cost and join our delegate assemblies and special events for a nominal fee.

To secure fair and equitable contracts and to provide immediate, personalized support, we maintain a fully staffed legal office in Hauppauge, just off the Long Island Expressway. Our two full-time attorneys and office manager are readily accessible by phone, email, or in-person consultation. Because CAS is a local organization, our attorneys are never more than an hour away and can represent members on short notice.

CAS membership also includes membership in the Empire State Supervisors and Administrators Association (ESSAA), a statewide organization representing more than 3,500 practicing public school administrators. CAS and ESSAA representatives meet regularly with the Commissioner of Education, the Board of Regents, state legislators, and other elected officials to advocate for members and ensure their voices are heard at the highest levels of educational leadership.
