On Wednesday, November 1, 2018, Ed Kemnitzer, Director of Technology, Innovation and Information Services for the East Williston School District, presented a CAS CTLE Workshop entitled “TECH TIPS AND TOOLS TO GET THE JOB DONE” at the Plainview Holiday Inn.
Among many informative tips, the workshop provided the participants with suggestions on how to more effectively manage social media tools like Twitter, Boomerang for Google, Voxer and Google Keep. The many attendees walked away with a litany of social and instructional tools that can be used personally, or with staff and parents, to make the job a bit more manageable. From streamlining calendar entries and cataloging parent conferences to better communicating more personally with staff, he provided the participants with practical tools and powerful apps designed to improve workflow and reduce time on the associated tasks. Participants learned of cutting-edge instructional tools used to enhance instruction and also shared many successful programs they use in their own schools! Many attendees remained afterward to ask additional questions regarding specific social media and learning tools.
