Meeting Magic: Strategies to Engage and Empower your Staff with A.J. Juliani

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, A.J. Juliani led a lively and interactive CTLE Workshop via Zoom for over 35 CAS members and guests. Throughout the workshop, he enthusiastically and often humorously provided examples of practices he has designed to make staff meetings and professional development initiatives more impactful. During this collaborative offering, A.J. shared a variety of clever and authentic strategies school leaders can use immediately to engage meeting participants upon returning to school. Sharing his “Epic Guide to Engagement”, many left the workshop with a litany of ways to share information and build relationships within their school communities.  Using strategies like the virtual team breakout room, staff walk-up theme music, back to school bingo, and “your best lesson,” school leaders can enhance the joy of learning and facilitate meaningful communication with staff.

A.J. Juliani is a national speaker who believes deeply in the educational inquiry movement. He often shares ideas and thoughts around “intentional innovation and the future of learning to hundreds of thousands of educators. As a former Education and Technology Innovation Specialist, staff developer, ELA teacher, and coach, he knows what real engagement requires. A.J. Juliani currently works as the Director of Learning and Innovation at Centennial School District and is the author of several books on empowering students and boosting creativity.
