To assist our new and veteran unit presidents in navigating another uncertain school year, CAS will be hosting a Zoom Legal Workshop with our CAS Attorneys, Mike Starvaggi and Brad Stuhler, on Thursday, October 14th at 4:30 pm.
We know you have many questions and we would like to shape a legal agenda appropriate to the needs of our CAS unit leaders. Items for discussion by the lawyers may include the following topics:
COVID- contact tracing– How should units handle contract tracing going forward?
COVID – mandatory testing and vaccination requirements – Can a district require weekly testing? Does it violate HIPPA? Who should collect vaccination cards?
Administrator liability during COVID-19 – anti/mask and anti/vax parents lawsuits – Are you protected from these types of lawsuits?
Shortened administrative probationary period (CAS legislation) – What does the law state and to whom does it apply?
Negotiations and contracts– What are the trends and how is inflation impacting negotiations
APPR questions and concerns for 21-22
If you plan on attending, please complete this Google Form.
If you would like to discuss additional items or issues of concern, please feel free to add them to the form, and we will add them to the agenda. Of course, if you have any questions, please call or email Mike or Brad and they will get right back to you.
We are looking forward to meeting with all of you and thank you for allowing us to represent you and the members of your organization!
