Congratulations, Long Island High School Marching Bands!
Over the past two weeks thousands of Long Island students from nearly fifty high school marching bands participated and competed in the Newsday Marching Band Festival, and the New York State Field Band Conference Championships in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University. We are proud of the rich music education programs in school districts throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties and wish to commend all of the student performers along with their music education teachers and supervisors for creating such highly accomplished performances. We also want to thank the school administrators, band parents, and local boards of education for supporting and nurturing music education in our schools despite the economic challenges prevalent today.
