ESSAA is proud to announce that our President, Carol Conklin-Spillane, was awarded this year’s Distinguished Service to Education Award by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). The award recognizes individuals who significantly improve and strengthen education and is nationwide in scope. Carol’s career has been an auspicious one and has included national recognition for achievements in developing school programs and practices that lead to high graduation rates; policy briefings to Congressional staff and on Personalizing Learning as Essential to the Reform Agenda; and the Pace University Partnership Award. In addition, under Carol’s leadership, Sleepy Hollow High School was named a Breakthrough High School for 2014 by NASSP/MetLife Foundation for high achievement. Her latest recognition is a further testament to her brilliant dedication to school leadership and honors the prestige of ESSAA and its leadership. We congratulate Carol with sincere pride on her accomplishment.
