Being a school leader today is no easy feat. With the multitude of tasks and responsibilities that you have to juggle, it’s difficult to manage it all while attending to the heart of the organization – the school’s culture. This workshop will focus on leadership strategies, ideas and protocols aimed at enhancing the culture of the organization. The concepts reviewed will center on the importance of leadership as well as management.
Andy Greene is the past president of LIASCD and an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University. Andy has worked closely with the foremost experts in the field of education, Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe, and he has helped to incorporate many of their learning principles in his home school, as well as instructing a whole host of administrators and teachers locally and nationally on operationalizing Understanding by Design. His work in Candlewood Middle School is featured in Grant and Jay’s book entitled Schooling by Design.
Mr. Greene also consults with districts on best teaching, learning and assessment practices and was honored as the Regional Administrator of the Year in 2014.
Mr. Greene has presented at numerous local and national conferences and has mentored several aspiring administrators as they get ready to enter the field of school administration.
