Over 300 creative and collaborative educators from across Long Island gathered at Bethpage Senior High School on Saturday, October 15th, to participate in the 7th Annual EdCamp Long Island. This year’s EdCamp was memorable for the event coordinators and participants because it was the first one since October of 2019, just before the Covid-19 pandemic changed our world forever.
Professional development plays an essential role in the development of an effective leader. Members of the Council of Administrators and Supervisors (CAS) joined passionate colleagues from all over the northeast for this unique opportunity to participate in peer-driven think tank workshops offered by local and national experts.
CAS understands and supports professional development venues that cultivate a culture of effective leadership. This free public event allows participants to leverage the participants’ knowledge and experiences through collaboration. The topics discussed were determined by attendees who chose to share their skills and expertise on various essential topics. Consequently, the discussions and activities were richly expanded and grew with input from the people in the room.
