The CAS Safe Space Forums for Probationary Administrators are designed to help probationary administrators navigate the sometimes uncharted waters of their probationary appointments. This series of three (3) Safe Space Forums will be anchored in the Professional Standards of Educational Leaders (PSEL) and focus on topics generated by the participants that will explore the importance of educational leadership, common workplace concerns, best practices, personal and professional growth, and collaboration. These confidential workshops will allow participants to work with a seasoned mentor and network with colleagues in similar positions across Long Island. Participants will engage in group discussions centered on topics of common interest to probationary administrators.
Participants are welcome to attend some or all sessions as their schedules allow!
The workshops will be facilitated by Dr. Michael Fama, longtime principal of the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Comsewogue. Mike has also been a mathematics and business teacher and an assistant principal. He was instrumental in helping JFK Middle School achieve Middle States Accreditation. In addition to teaching and motivating future school leaders at St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue, he is currently visiting schools seeking accreditation throughout the northeast as a Volunteer Team Member for the Middle States Association. |
This workshop is at no cost to all CAS administrators. CAS is a certified NYSED Continuing Teacher Leader Education (CTLE) sponsor, and successful participants will earn one (1) hour of CTLE professional development credit applicable toward the hours needed for continuing certification for each session. Upcoming CAS CTLE Workshops are scheduled throughout the school year and communicated through email and the www.casliny.com website.
